Aruba UTV Tours: which one, and can they reach the pool?
Short version: 24 UTV and ATV products on this island have enough reviews to judge, prices run $78 to $499, and not one of them can drive you into Arikok National Park. ATVs, UTVs, motorbikes, buggies and trikes have been banned from every protected nature area — including the Natural Pool — since 2020. So the real decision isn't which tour is prettiest on paper. It's guided tour versus self-drive rental, and whether the "Natural Pool" stop some of them advertise actually means what you think it means.
Can UTV tours in Aruba go to the Natural Pool?
No. UTVs and ATVs are banned from Arikok, and it is the ban most listings don't mention. Aruba's Conservation Foundation is explicit: "ATVs, UTVs, and motorbikes are prohibited in protected nature areas," citing the impact on the land (acf.aw /experiences). The rule phased in from June 1, 2020, when Parke Nacional Arikok "entail[ed] a complete halt on entrance for All Terrain Vehicles (ATV), Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV), Motorcycles, Buggies, and Trikes" (wheninaruba.com). One of the island's own UTV rental companies confirms the same thing from the renter's side: "UTVs are prohibited from entering Arikok Park since November 2020," and driving on beaches, dunes or white sand is separately illegal because they're protected breeding grounds (aruba4x4.com/faqs).
That means the Natural Pool (Conchi), inside Arikok, is off the map for every UTV and ATV on this island — full stop, regardless of what a listing's title promises. If you already know you want the pool specifically, the Natural Pool guide covers the jeep, horse and hiking options that can actually get you there.
So what do these tours cover instead? Read the operator route sheets rather than the marketing copy and a consistent shape shows up: the north coast. De Palm's UTV routes hit "Rock Formations, Baby Natural Bridge, Wariruri Beach and California Lighthouse," and De Palm's own "UTV & Jeep Natural Pool Combo" tour makes the vehicle swap explicit in its name — a jeep, not the UTV, for "Alto Vista Chapel, the California Lighthouse, Baby Natural Bridge, and Ruins" (depalm.com/utv-tours). RockaBeach's route adds "Ayo Rock Formation," "Blackstone Beach & Three Bridges," "Andicuri Beach," and a 30-minute swim stop at Boca Catalina or Tres Trapi (rockabeachtours.com). Around Aruba Tours' route names nearly the same list plus "Philip's Animal Garden" and "Shark Bay" (aroundarubatours.com). Three unrelated operators, the same north-coast loop: rock formations, ruins, a lighthouse, a beach swim. None of them mention entering the park.
Worth knowing before you book: five of the products compared below still carry "Natural Pool" in their actual Viator listing name even though it's absent from the shortened title in our own catalog — the ATV off-road tour, the UTV off-road tour, the "2, 3 and 4 Seater" UTV tour, the 2-seater UTV tour, and the $349 UTV day below. Since the ban applies at the park gate no matter what the excursion is called, any of them has to hand you off — a jeep, a walk, or a different vehicle — for that stretch, the same way the $349 UTV day explicitly does with its "jeep transfer."
Which Aruba UTV tour is best?
The Aruba UTV & ATV Adventure at $162 has the most evidence behind it, and every guided tour below scores 90% five-star or more. 24 products clear 25 combined reviews (Viator + Tripadvisor). Twenty are guided tours — you drive your own vehicle in a convoy behind a guide, on a fixed route and schedule. Four are self-drive rentals — no guide, no fixed stops, an 8-hour block, go where the law and your nerve allow.

Among the tours, there is no outlier. Every tour here sits between 90% and 100% five-star, so these routes deliver reliably — the real spread is price, length and the swim break. The one to step around is a rental, not a tour: see the 4-Seat UTV Rental below.
Self-drive rentals
No guide, no fixed stops, an 8-hour rental block instead of a 3-5 hour tour.
| Rental | Rating | Reviews | Five-star | From | Length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4-Seat UTV Rental | 4.5★ | 138 | 81% | $340 | 8h |
| UTV Rental: 4-Seater | 4.8★ | 534 | 90% | $349 | 8h |
| 5-Seat UTV Rental | 4.8★ | 37 | 86% | $390 | 8h |
| 6-Seater UTV Rental | 4.9★ | 32 | 94% | $499 | 8h |
The 4-Seat UTV Rental at $340 is the one to step around: 81% five-star is the lowest score in this entire guide, tours included, on 138 reviews — a real complaint rate in a category where almost nobody complains. The other three rentals sit at 86-94%, close enough to the guided tours not to be a reason on their own to avoid renting.
Should you rent a UTV in Aruba or book a tour?
Book a tour if you want the route decided for you; rent if you already know where you're going and want eight hours instead of four. A tour puts a guide in front of you and a fixed route under you; you still drive your own machine, but someone else picks the stops and the pace. A rental hands you the keys for eight hours with nobody leading. The tours above run 3-4.5 hours; the four rentals are all 8-hour blocks.
The age and licence rules differ by exactly this line, based on what operators publish. Guided tours generally require the driver to hold a valid licence and be 18 or older, with passengers allowed from as young as 4-5 (rockabeachtours.com, aroundarubatours.com). Standalone rental companies tend to set the bar higher for the driver — Aruba Ruff Riders requires drivers to be 21, not 18 (aruba4x4.com/faqs) — because nobody is riding along to keep you on the marked track. Our own facet data (used across this site, never the operators') puts the minimum passenger age at 6 on the $279 tour and as high as 16 on the $499 rental — check the specific listing before you book if a young passenger is coming.
Two tours require every rider to be able to swim: the $122 Animal Garden tour and the $290 UTV-and-Jeep mix. Every other product on this page has no swim requirement.
Our pick
Aruba UTV & ATV Adventure, $162, four hours. 8,827 combined reviews — the largest sample on this page by a wide margin — at 95% five-star, departing 09:00 or 14:30. It's the tour with the most evidence behind it, and the score holds up at that volume.
The honest alternative: UTV Off-Road Driving Experience, North Coast, at $279 scores higher — 99% five-star from 5,842 reviews — for $117 more and the same four hours. If the extra points matter more to you than the extra money, that's the one to book instead. Neither goes near the Natural Pool; for that, use the Natural Pool guide.

Common questions
Do you need a driver's licence to drive a UTV in Aruba? Yes. Every operator that publishes the rule requires a valid driver's licence to drive, on tours and rentals alike. Guided tours generally set the minimum driving age at 18; standalone rental companies often set it at 21, since a rental has no guide keeping you on the route.
What's the minimum age for a passenger? It varies by listing. Operator pages describe passengers as young as 4-5 on some guided tours. Our own product data (which this site tracks independently) shows minimum passenger ages from 6 to 16 across the products compared above — check the specific listing rather than assuming a number.
Can a UTV or ATV go to the Natural Pool in Aruba? No. ATVs, UTVs, motorbikes, buggies and trikes have been banned from Arikok National Park, including the Natural Pool, since a phased rollout starting June 1, 2020. Products that still advertise a "Natural Pool" stop have to hand you off to a jeep, a walk, or another vehicle for that stretch — the $349 tour above does this explicitly with a "jeep transfer."
Should I rent a UTV or book a tour? Book a tour if you want the route decided for you. That means the north coast route — rock formations, ruins, a lighthouse, a beach swim — and a guide keeping you off anything illegal or dangerous. Rent if you already know where you're going and want eight hours instead of four; expect a higher minimum driving age and no fixed stops.
How much does an Aruba UTV tour or rental cost? Guided tours run $78 to $405 across the 20 products with enough reviews to judge here. Self-drive rentals run $340 to $499 for an 8-hour block — pricier than most tours because you're renting the vehicle itself, not a seat on one.
Is driving a UTV in Aruba safe? Only if you take it seriously: it's off-road driving in real heat and dust, not a theme-park ride. It's rated high physical demand in our own facet data for nearly every product on this page. Wear the safety gear the operator provides, keep pace with the guide on a tour, and never drive onto a beach, dune or white-sand area: it's illegal in Aruba because those are protected animal breeding grounds, not just an insurance term.
What's the difference between the ATV and UTV options? An ATV is a single-rider straddle vehicle with handlebars. A UTV is a side-by-side with a steering wheel and bench or bucket seats for two to six. Several listings above sell both from the same operator at different prices — the ATV options are consistently the cheapest entries on this page ($78, $90, $95).
